I want to put $50,000 into an index fund, then start up a savings plan between $500 & $1000 a month to add to the fund, but i'm lost with all the choices. I have been thinking about these two Vangaurd- Index Aus Shares (retail) @ www.vangaurd.com.au or BT Investments Wholesale AUS Share Fund @ www.bt.com.au Please if anyone knows these or can recommend another it would be sweet

  1. To stick money for the long run you need more diversification. Invest in stocks, bunds, oil, gold. In stocks buy all industries. the market as a whole will always keep rising in the long run, especially if you buy all over the world.
