  1. 50 WIN PARLAY......

    BIG BROWN

    MONMOUTH PARK.....RACE 7

    ELUSIVE VALUE.....

  2. I would put $20 to win on Big Brown and $30 to place on Gayego.

  3. Exacta wheel with Big Brown on top and every other horse for second.

  4. spend $5 on win place and show for big brown, racecar rhapsody, and hey byrn. that will cost you $45. then Bet $5 for gayego to win. ITS MONEY IN DA BANK. SHORTY WHAT YA THINK?

  5. I doubt if $50 is going to break you, so why not risk it all on a sweet long shot? Gayego! I think 8-1 are pretty sweet odds on Gayego to win.

Going back 73 years to 1935, only 9 non-Kentucky Derby starters have won the Preakness. So given that only 9 out of 73 Preakness races since 1935 have been won by non-Kentucky Derby contenders, a 12.3% ratio, I think a win bet on one of the Kentucky Derby contenders among the Preakness starters is a no-brainer, those contenders being Big Brown and Gayego. But the bulk of my wager is going to be on Gayego because Big Brown is up against some pretty tough historical odds, and that being that only 31 horses have ever won the first two legs of the Triple Crown in the 133 year history of the Preakness.

Risk that $50 on Gayego to win.

  6. invest it is the word. big brown to win/ with the bar horse to run second/and yankee hero! exactas...$25,00 dollars each!

  7. Putts_e's statistical answer is incorrect because, well, it's statistical. It doesn't work that way, ever.

I'd take Big Brown and some decent long shots (read: Most of the rest of the field) in exotics, with maybe a somewhat large win bet on him. Be careful, because you don't get much return on an odds on horse.

Face it: 1/3 is not a long shot. That's 2-1. Considering the rest of the field is pretty bad I'd probably give him the odds he has now.

  8. $1 trifecta box ... 4-7-8-12  cost $24. spend the rest on beer. hopefully BigB finishes 2nd or lower and you'll be rich.

  9. $45 on big brown, 5 on who you think will come in 2nd place
