Question:

I have 52days old golden retriver its hairs are short and white,when will it get real hairs?

i have seen some photos in google images but those 2month old puppies had started growing long hairs, my dog has still short hairs, why.... plz help

  1. Because it's summer and mother nature warrants that longer hair isn't needed in the summer...Don't worry so much.. :-)


  2. At that age he just has his puppy coat, it will take almost a year for him to really get his adult coat.  As to the colour, that will depend on the breeders line.  A lot of goldies these days are almost white.

    I hope you have many years of love and fun .

  3. One reason is because he is still a puppy.  He has his puppy coat.  

    He will not get his feathering in for quite some time.  This coat also depends on his parents.  If they had poor feathering then he may too.  

    It all in what he has inherited through the genes of his parents and grandparents ect..

  4. Yes, this is downey fur. It willl come out at about 2-3 months. and then she will get proper fur.
