  1. It is in your best interest to step up the oral hygiene. If you develop gum issues and decay while in braces, you are spinning your wheels and wasting your time, the doc's time and someones money.

Brush after every meal, floss, use an anti bacterial mouth rinse, not just mouth wash. Try Listerine or Peroxyl, both are very good in helping reduce inflammation. You are the only one who can make this happen and you can turn things around! Good luck.

  2. Yes, it is very important to have good oral hygiene. It is very easy to get a cavity with braces. When your braces come off you don't want them to look not clean and stuff.

  3. It is even more important when you ave braces to take care of your teeth. The inflammation can get better if you make sure to floss on a daily basis. As far as whitening, it would depend on why your teeth are yellow, but whitening toothpaste couldn't hurt. Have you been to the dentist lately for a cleaning?

  4. omgoodness!!! yes you absolutly MUST brush your teeth when you have braces. Since your teeth have turned yellow and your gums puffy this indicates a really unhealthy mouth. You should brush every morning and night so that your  mouth remains healthy! You must always floss aswell to take away any bits of food in between your teeth! if you continue to not brush your teeth this will result in  a thing called windows where when the braces are taken off you will still have the marks where the braces were placed. This is not a very attractive look! so please do yourself a favor and brush your teeth!

    Hope i helped

  5. If the plaque deposits that have calcified have not been removed by a thorough cleaning at the dentist's office, then you can make things better but not perfect.

You need to have a cleaning first, if it has been more than 6 months....

  6. you just answered your own question anyway with braces you brush your teeth fourtimes a day and use mouth wash
