I have 8mm video cassettes to transfer to DVD but my camcorder broke. Is there a player I can use to transfer?

I want to do this myself and was going to hook my camcorder to my DVD recorder. If there is an inexpensive player that might solve the problem.

  1. You can buy an adapter that allows you to play 8MM video cassettes in a standard VCR and, in fact, most 8MM video cameras used to come with one.  If you don't have a VCR perhaps you could borrow one long enough to make the transfer.

  2. Sorry. Did some research and found nothing. Might want to borrow a friends Hi8 video to transfer to your computer and just save your money to by a new one.

Adapter for Hi8 does not exist. Only for the super VHS.

    Update:

You say " I'm going to hook my camcorder to my DVD recorder" than you should invest in the Sony Direct DVD. No computer needed just hook it up to the Sony Direct and will burn the movie that you are transferring to DVD direct. I have one and its great. I have posted a link for you to review.
