  1. No, Vista requires 2 gig minimum

  2. It meets the minimum requirements for the Home Basic edition of Vista ...

... but I wouldn't want to try to run it on a machine with less then 2GB of RAM.

  3. a possible quick solution to your problem.

vista as a built in program that allows you to use an USB memory stick as extra ram.

if you put a "stick"in an USB port .

it will bring on screen an option to use this as ram memory.

a 1GB "stick "gives just over 0.8GB of extra memory

    hope this helps

  4. Hi, to be honest Windows Vista will run much better on 2gb of RAM

It will work on 1gb of RAM but I would recommend 2gb.

  5. The absolute minimum you require is 512MB RAM but it would be very slow and very choppy with that, personally I think 1024MB RAM is a decent basic amount for doing basic tasks. If you want to have a really good Windows Vista experience then you should have no less than 2048MB RAM as Vista runs good with that amount.

    Good luck :)
