I have (ACOUSTIC SOLUTION AS135 HOME CINEMA 5.1 SURROUND SYSTEM) and need instruction manual. Or if you can help me to connect the leads from my (SUBWOOFER to my DVD PLAYER) I have connected all the speakers by pressing on a switch and putting the wire inside, that was easy. it is just the yellow/red/white leads I do not know where to put. Please help me as Acoustic Solution site for manual will not allow me to enter site. Thanks Mike3000

  1. By not being able to see it, I'm flying more blind than you without a manual , but I do know about connections. so here goes:

Yellow/red/white cabling is known as RCA. Yellow denotes video signal, red audio right channel, white audio left.

    1) I'll assume first that the AS135 has an input for audio & video, and an output. In others words, at least six RCA sockets, three to take sound/picture in, three out.

    2) The DVD has one RCA input and output, e.g., 'line out' or might say 'audio out', and 'video out.'

    3) your TV has same, i.e., one RCA input & one output (e.g.,) 'line in,' & 'video in'.

    4) assume if you have cable, or TV signal input, this is going through the TV first.

    Connection Options:

    A) requires three audio/video RCA cables (yellow, red, white plugs on either end). i) TV connection: line out, Y/R/W, connected to DVD input Y/R/W. this will mean you're able to record TV on the DVD (I presume this is already set up). ii) DVD line output Y/R/W to audio system input. iii) audio system output Y/R/W to TV input.

    B) requires two cables. i) same. ii) DVD line output yellow to TV input. iii) DVD line output R/W to audio system input. iv) audio system R/W output to TV input. This configuraiton simply means you don't have to send the video signal through the audio system, it can go to/from the TV & DVD independantly.

    Both should allow you to:

    * record TV on the DVD

    * play the DVD and have sound through the audio system, picture through the TV

    * play TV and have sound through the audio system

If the assumption 4) is wrong, i.e., cable or coax TV signal goes through the DVD player first, then out to the TV, set up should be very simple. In this case, just white & red (left & right) audio outputs from the DVD to the audio system should get you what you need.

there are other possible configurations depending on the inputs/outputs on TV, DVD and the audio system.

Good luck, hope this is somewhere towards useful.
