  1. If  your acne is really bad & you've used all the over the counter acne meds & they dont work~~ then the best thing you can do is see a Dermatologist.

Thats a doctor that specializes in skin conditions & know whats best thing for you to try to clear up your acne.

  2. my doctor put me on Differin, (go to www.differin.com for more info) even though i had mild acne, and it worked. but after 8-12 weeks it will stop the whole "acne-cycle" completely and i think its made for severe acne cases.

i recommend to see a dermotologist he will tell you specifically what to use.

  3. well the method behind skin and acne remedies is the tree steps.

    The cleanser

    The toner

    And the mosturizer.

    This is how proactiv works.

So first set out oto find the best face wash I like morning burst, neutrogena oil free acne and clean and clear. Those all work rlyyy well.

For the toner clinique t face toner but if you dont want to buy that just get some rose water for your face from  a spa or something.

For a mosturizer just find one that works. One thats not rly oily. And not one tht doesnt mosturize a ot. Estee lauder has a reat called like light facial cleanser or w/e.

So follow these steps in the morning and night right before you go to bed:

clean your face w/ the cleaner

(morning burst neutrogena clean and clear )

    then apply the toner

    then the mosturizer.

if your sweaty just wash ur face dont do all 3 steps.

    hope i helped

  4. If normal acne products are not working for you (as they didn't for me), the best and most effective treatment is antibiotics that your doctor can prescribe. They take a little bit of time to kick in but they really clear it up.

From your pic, I assume you're a guy so the other option (going onto the ccontraceptivepill) would not be useful!!

Good luck and I hope this helps!

P.s, if you need something just to get rid of the main spots, a cream called Quinoderm was very effective for me. It will really dry out your skin if you use it all over so try to put it just on the spots. It smells really bad but it takes the redness away almost immediately and it really gets rid of them fast. you can get it at most chemists.

  5. Here are some home remedies you could try:

Apple Zinger Facial Mask (Oily and Acne Prone Skin)

Take 1 medium size apple, grated fine, 5 tbs. honey. Mix the grated apple and honey well. Smooth over skin and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.

Cool as a Cucumber Yogurt Facial (Normal/Oily Skin)

    1/2 cucumber

    1 Tbsp plain yogurt

Puree cucumber in blender mix in yogurt, apply to face. Leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse well.

    Honey Mask (Oily/Blemished Skin)

Massage a small amount of slightly heated honey onto skin and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Be sure to wash off all the honey with lukewarm water or the honey left will clog your pores, resulting in more acne. Wheat germ may be added for its abrasive action, protein and nutrients.

    Pineapple Olive Oil Mask

In a blender, combine 4 large pineapple chunks or 1/2 cup canned, drained pineapple and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Blend until almost smooth. Apply mixture to face with fingertips and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse face with warm water and pat dry.

    Tomato Blemish Remedy

    1 tomato, ripe, chopped

    1 tsp. lemon juice

1 T instant style oatmeal or old fashioned rolled oats

Blend all ingredients until just combined, in a paste. Apply to blemished skin, making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay in place.  Leave in place 10 minutes.  Remove with damp washcloth, and rinse and tone.

    Honey Yogurt Exfoliating Facial Scrub

Mix 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar with ½ teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of plain yogurt. Smooth the mixture over your face and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off using lukewarm water.

    Oatmeal Exfoliating Facial Scrub

Mix one pack of instant oatmeal with water to create a paste. Once the paste is formed, dab the mixture onto your entire face. Let the mixture set for approximately 2 minutes and rinse off with cold water. According to experts oily skin should be treated with an oatmeal mask to get good results. Oatmeal when mashed not only acts as a great scrub but also effectively soaks away the excess oil from your face. The usage of oatmeal paste must be followed by a cold water rinse that helps in contracting the pores.

    Seawater

Wash your face twice a day in warm, salty water. This helps leave your face clean and oil-free -- without employing any potentially irritating products or soaps.

    Toning: Egg Whites

Using egg whites is the cheapest and easiest way to tone your skin at home. Simply separate a few raw egg whites into a bowl and apply directly on the facial skin after cleansing. Let the egg white dry for at least 15 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water for an instant glow. For acne, take one egg white and put it directly on top of the pimple for 20 minutes.

    Garlic

Peel and mash eight cloves of fresh garlic. Apply to face avoiding the area around the eyes. Leave on for about 15 minutes. Wash off with a warm cloth.

    Toothpaste

Put toothpaste on your pimples before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel.

    Baking Soda Solution

You will need 1 tbsp. baking soda, 1 tbsp. water. Mix together ingredients and apply on face allowing it to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it with warm water. Baking Soda is very cheap and one box will last you a very long time. You can also use baking soda as an exfoliator: be careful when applying it to your face, since it is a very effective scrub. Massage the baking soda into your skin for ten to fifteen seconds and rinse. Your face is now clear of the surface cells that will cause many acne spots.

    Vinegar

Mix some vinegar and salt in a bowl. Pour a little bit in your hand and rub it on the pimples. Soak a face towel in it and dab it on the bumps. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off.

  6. unfortunately retail skin care products wont really help you (N)

the best option is for you to seek advice from your GP

he or she will write you a perscription for a topical cream or an oral medication, most likely you will be reccommended Retin-A as a topical cream but it seems like Roaccutane may be the only option for such a large area affected, it will treat the whole body,

do some research on both of these products because most will have pro's and cons (especially roaccutane) it has different effects on everyone,

give yourself an idea before you go in :)

  7. Hey.

I had problem with facial acne. I went to the doctor, and she put me on acutane. It cleared it ALL up. I have ZERO acne left. Its like magic. You only take it for six months, and there are chances that it will never come back.

    Good luck.

  8. I would advise you to try Zenmed's Body Acne Combo. It is one product that I have seen works great for clearing body acne quickly without any type of skin reaction. I have seen how well it worked for my husbands body acne and so recommend it for you.

The pack contains a botanical acne body wash and a botanical acne mask. The mask is first applied all over the affected region of the skin ten minutes before going to the shower and once in the shower the mask is washed off with water and the acne body wash. I remember clearly that he didn't use it for more than three weeks as by that time his back and chest had cleared up completely of body acne.

  9. Sometimes, severe cases of acne can be caused by a virus or bacteria. If you have tried many different products without success, you may need to consult with your doctor or visit a dermatologist. They can prescribe antibiotics and suggest a better skin care regimen. Try changing your sheets and pillow cases several times per week; bacteria from dead skin cells collect there and can outbreaks.

  10. I hear you, I'm allergic to ProActiv and the like.

    I recently started using this:

    "Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash"

Its a pink grapfruit foaming scrub.

About 3 days ago, I started using this morning and night.

All you have to do it wet your hands, lather it on, and wash your face.

Then rinse, and then I suggest splashing your face with COLD water!

I hear it closes your pores. Even if its a myth, it won't hurt to try.

So try my routine out, my skin is clearing up.

As long as you stick to it and don't skip a wash, it will at least help to control it.

It doesn't have any harsh chemicals in it.

But if it starts to dry your skin a bit, just put a little bit of lotion on that won't clog your pores, like Aveeno.

Good luck! I hope you find something that works for you. =]

  11. It's time to see a dermatologist.
