  1. you can get quotes online.

  2. The same parent company runs both.  BUT.   The laws are different in each state, so the plans will be different in each state, so you won't be able to fairly compare a TX plan with an IL plan.

You'll have to get a quote to see.

  3. What is your question?  If you're wondering why the rates are different, it's just a matter of what the company charges for each state.  My husband and I paid less for BCBS MO than BCBS MN.

  4. Each state has different laws and the cost of medical care can also be different. Even though they are both Blue Cross they may still be separate companies. For example Virginia Blue Cross is a separate company from Blue Cross Maryland.

You can visit http://www.bcbstx.com/ and run a quote to see.

  5. Well they are all the same and they merged as one.. They are all under Wellpoint Company.. they are the ones who mostly owns most of the insurance now... And i Think they will be handled by Anthem soon... and they are earning a lot of money from all of the premiums....

  6. Michael

Was mistaken Health Care Service Corporation owns Blue Cross of Illinois, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma. WellPoint is a different company that merged with Anthem in 2004.
