I have DSL from my phone jack. Why can't I get FiOS for my TV. Why would that affect my phone?

Aren't they different systems? FiOS has wired the complex where I live, and I have the wires and box running through my closet. I have been told about removing the copper wires and replacing them with the FiO, but I still don't understand why one would affect the other. Wouldn't they be replaceing the coax cable from copper to FiO? My coax cable is being used for nothing. Again, why would the affect my phone line and DSL?

  1. The only way this would affect you is if you complex has decided to remove all copper, which I doubt, and network interface devices for all residences.  You can stay on copper for your phone/dsl and go to FIOS for video service if you want.  The installer just would not port over those services to the new ONT.  It isn't hard at all.  It does sound like a issue w/ your complexes management not Verizon.

  2. 1st-Fios sucks no worth it first month i had it i payed over $200.

2nd-Cable is better (free HD and better internet).
