I have Desay DVD Player DS-5701 and it won't play DVD-R's at all can someone tell me why it doesn't play them?

you have to get a DVD player that says its compatable

you should buy a DVD recorder, it plays forms of dvds, like dvd ram, dvd rw and dvd r

and if you still have an issue, if you have a dvd palyer that says dvd-r, dvd-rw, and dvd then make sure that the disc you are trying to play has been finalized

Your DVD player just doesn't read DVD-R's.  There's nothing else you can do, unless you buy another DVD player capable of reading burnt DVD's.
