Question:

I have Final Cut. . . Now What?

My brother is a computer guru who set me up with Final Cut (Pro 6.0 . . . I think).

This is all well and good, but i'm stuck on what to do next in regards to getting my feet wet filming.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a camera set-up that is compatible with computers and the final cut editing software. i'm not knowledgable about formats, but i'm looking for something that I won't have to purchase/hook-up cassette decks (or any other c**p). Is there a film format worthy of my simple minded silver screen epic movies?

A memory stick type format? Does that exist?

Can you recommend cameras/ complete set-ups within a budget of $2,000 (used is okay)?

Thanks all!

  1. Hey,

Final Cut Pro is a professional program made for the pros, but you can find loads of tutorials all over the Internet on FCP.

I'm a FCP editor so i know what am talking about, check out some of the things you can do with FCP here...

  2. I think you better start with a simpler editing software...

something like Nero or Sony Vegas Movie Studio.

    Final Cut is for pros
