I have no other kind of insurance from them whatsoever, and have never been involved with any auto accidents...

  1. Most likely it is due to the credit report Geico runs when you start a policy - they base their rates on credit, unlike some other insurance companies.  (This would show up as an inquiry)

  2. contact your credit reporting agency and file a dispute! is this a collections notation? call the insurance company they could be doing an inquire to confirm you pay your bills if you are on monthly payment plan with your insurance company.

  3. I work for Nationwide Insurance and I have thought this over and the only thing I could come up with is when you take out insurance they do run a soft hit on your credit.  On the safe side I would call them.

  4. The underwriting department of any insurance company checks your credit for credit worthiness. They are a part of Geico. They checked my credit as well. Nothing to worry about.
