Ok just a few curios questions!

How many cycles did it take you or have you done?

How many eggs did u transfer?

I open for twins but my husband is not! He does not twins and is only wanting one egg transferred! When we do this! We are working on getting the money to go for at least one cycle!

  1. We went through 2 cycles before it worked for us, (just got a bfp last week!) We transferred 3 embryos each time, the 1st time, nothing- we'll find out in 2 weeks how many actually took this time. It's not worth your money to only transfer one. There are a lot of factors to consider like,

what are the quality of the embryos? they rate them, and if you don't have excellent ones, they will tell you to transfer more than usual because there's less of a chance they will take.  If you have good/excellent ones, most of the time they recommend 2, but you also have to consider if you are going to be able to do it again. We knew it would be a while before we'd be able to, so we did 3 excellent quality and it didn't work the 1st time.

For every embryo you put in, it only raises the chances for multiples a couple %. You really need to talk to him and let him know, 1 is not an option.  Plus, the extra ones may not make it to the freezing point. Out of the 10 that we had left, only one got to that point, so it wasn't worth freezing. He needs to really look at the big picture here. Hopefully, this helps, also talk to your RE about numbers and facts you can give him to reassure that's the chance is low for multiples.

  2. IVF is an artificial process that gives you many options.  You DH does not want twins so you have two options. The first is to agree to a fetal sac reduction in the event of multiple implantations.  This is the same as an abortion.  You will only carry one fetus to term.  In this method, your doc can transfer the normal amount of embryos for your age and medical history.

If abortion is not desirable, then you must elect single embryo transfer.  But not all embryos are the same.  The standard is Day 3 embryos.  A better qualty is called blastocysts or Day 5.  The implantation rate with blastocysts is much higher than for Day 3 embryos.  What is the catch?  In growing the embryos to day 5, you can lose them entirely.

I think you need to find a clinic that has good success with blastocysts.  And I think you need to plan on more than one cycle.
