I have L1 Visa and will be entering US within 4 months of expiration. I was informed that a minimum of 6 months of period is required to enter before the Visa expires. Please advice.

  1. As long as you're still employed by the company that hired you, you won't have any problems. Your authorized stay in the US is frequently unrelated to the visa itself. The expiration date on the visa, is basically a "use by" date. You can't come in after it expires, but  you can come in at any time before it expires. It's the passport itself that has to be good for at least six months from the date you enter. Some visas are only valid for 3 months, or even less.

  2. You can technically enter on the L1, but remember it is up to the immigration officer that interviews you whether you can return. If they think you are a risk to overstay, you can be denied entry.
