I have a large boil on my left arm pus is constantly coming out how long does this last . I'm taking BACTRIM...

  1. it would last for a week and half or so if you treat it right.

    keep taking your anti-biotics.

    also, try:

    -washing the boil with diluted hydrogen peroxide. or filling a large bowl (that fits your arm) with the solution and soaking your arm in it for 30 mins everyday.

    -try taking colloidal silver. both internally (10-20 ml everyday on an empty stomach) and externally (apply it on the boil)

    -apply soe tea-tree oil on the healthy skin around the boil to prevent the infection from spreading

    -clean the pus. get some professional help at a clinic or something!!

  2. I think the best antibiotic is Keflex. It seems to kill just about anything. I had a bad staph infection on my legs that didn't go away till I took it. It's worked well for others I know too. Sometimes if you suggest a med to a physician they'll prescribe it.

  3. If it's not going down after a few days, it's worth seeing a doc to get it drained and start on some stronger meds.
