I have Windows XP operating system, how can I find out if I have service pack 2 and the latest security patch?

Also, how can I find out which Internet Explorer version I have?

  1. Go to Microsoft's web site and they can do a check onyour system. Have any code numbers for the XP etc. handy.


  2. To check what your OS is with the SP number Rt click on My Computer on the desktop>Properties

    To check IE version, open IE>Help>About

    To Update your computer/check for updates go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ WITH INTERNET EXPLORER

  3. to check which version of  your xp is..

    right click on my computer>properties.

    it will display the version of xp under general tab>system:

    to get the updates.. click on automatic updates and click on the url to update your system..

    to check your ie

    open the internet explorer

    in the menu bar>help>about internet explorer

  4. right click on my computer and go to properties, under the general tab it will tell you what service pack you have.

    security patches are listed in control panel - but automatic updates will keep you up on those

    for internet explorer - click on Help at the top of the window and then About. it will list your version
