When I try to migrate to Rhapsody, I get a message that tells me I can only do that if I am a Yahoo Music Unlimited customer and offers me a trial of Rhapsody. The issue is, I AM a Yahoo Music Unlimited customer. Why is it saying I am not? Why won't it let me migrate to Rhapsody? Are they just hoping people get frustrated and let their subscriptions lapse so they have to pay more for Rhapsody? I tied to use the "help" contact forms on the Yahoo Music site, but SURPRISE, they're not working and they don't let you actually CALL them to get support. Should I just switch to Napster? This is ridiculous.

  1. you make me so scary woooo~~~~~

  2. Maybe you are not familiar with the transfer nightmare from Music Match to Yahoo! Music Unlimited.  And so the nightmare on Elm Street begins again.  Maybe you should give Yahoo! a chance and report the problem and see what they say.  Maybe you should opt out and take the credit for Yahoo! Music Unlimited.  It's too early to say, but if past history is accurate, then run away as fast as you can.

Wow.  You got a response from a Rhapsody product manager. This certainly changes my opinion of the transition to Rhapsody.

  3. I apologize for the difficulties you're experiencing.

Only the following types of users are eligible to transfer their accounts to Rhapsody:

    1. Active Yahoo! Music Unlimited subscribers, or

    2. Active Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go subscribers, or

    3. Yahoo! Music Unlimited users who have a track purchase (download) credit balance.

(Users in category 3 may be non-subscribers or subscribers.)

The definition of "active" means you are paying your subscription fee using a valid credit card or you are enjoying a Gift Certificate that has not yet expired.

If you meet the criteria specified above and are still having difficulty transferring, please feel free to contact me via a private message.

  4. This is not answer so much as it is a "I know how you feel" comment.

I pay my subscription fees annually and when I attempted to transfer my account, I was not recognized as a subscriber either.

    It is frustrating.

  5. There was an technical problem that was preventing the transfer tool from recognizing some subscribers.  This was typically happening if that subscriber had previously canceled their Yahoo! Music Unlimited subscription and signed up again later.  We believe we have resolved this issue.  Go ahead and try to transfer your account again here: http://transfer.music.yahoo.com.  Sign into your Yahoo! account and you should be given the correct transfer page.
