I have a 07 GSXR600 and I want to put -1/+2 sprockets on it front/rear. Can i use the stock chain? or new one?

  1. Whenever the sprockets are to be changed, you have to replace the whole set.  1) Chain 2) Wheel 3) Sprocket.  That is the done thing.  This is to ensure that the surfaces working with each other have a fair chance to break in and also ensures a correct wear pattern.  This in-turn will ensure greater confidence when riding.

    On the other hand, if you feel your chain is almost brand new and the adjusters can accomodate the sprocket change.....well....take a chance.


  2. new sprockets..... get a new chain. it's always best to get it all new at the same time. besides, the original is an unbroken chain, so you'll have to put a master link in it anyways. not sure if it'll fit after you do that.
