I have a 1/0 red trailer hook for my spinner bait is that too small?

No , I used to think it would be too small, til I tried it. Now most of my trailer hooks are 1/0.

No. I would have thought the same thing until just recently I had a 28" northern take a tiny crappie lure.  He wasnt a monster by any means but it was certainly surprising that the hook held up.
