  1. If you really want to make sure. What would help more is are rubber pants. Wal-mart sells them. For the sake of the tots comfort, wear a swimy diaper underneath.

I really don't think swimy diapers are going to help with leaks, I mean they could but if the child is floating in the water the pee is going to float out the side before it can soak in.

  2. They will not help to stop a large amount of urine...they soak right through. They will help with Number 2 for a short while, but will eventually get wet and leak out too. They are great for the short term swim which is all most babies can handle anyway. I would suggest buying a plastic swim suit as well to cover the swim diaper or use on its own. Two things are better than one, and they are not much different than wearing trunks, but more in speedo format. They sell them by Kushies for about $10 and they go from Small to Extra Large. Your child will likely fit in the large or xl unless they are a really big toddler :) Good luck, go swimming and enjoyt the pool with the babe. Urine is sterile anyway. Just remember public pools don't change the water or sterilize for pee, just p**p...its extremely clean.

  3. These are the best, because they don't bloat like regular diapers, and it is just a mess, but these are to keep all of the leaks in.

  4. Swim diapers were specifically designed to prevent leakage while swimming-- it helps prevent urine leakage and fecal leakage. They are a modern marvel, because it keeps your child protected from accidents, but also protects those in the pool from having to swim in any of those accidents (both # 1 and # 2)

Further, though, swim diapers do not swell up like regular diapers, and are made specifically to be in the water.

  5. netnanny has it exactly right. definitely go for the swimmers.

  6. I've never had any problem with swim diapers leaking and I've used them last summer and this one with my son. I'm not sure what other people are using that are leaking so badly.  I use the Little Swimmers by Huggies and they have NEVER leaked or had problems with anything "escaping" with my son.

As for urine being sterile, if that were so, then let's see you want to swim in a pool full of pee. I don't think so.

  7. Mostly for #2.  Just think, if it doesn't swell up and absorb water, it's not going to absorb urine.

  8. Definitely doesn't help for pee, whatsoever.  Made the mistake of putting one on my daughter when she was 10 months old before we got in the car to go to the pool... The car seat was soaked!  Urine is sterile and harmless, p**p on the other hand is not.

  9. number2 only i used one the opther day and went to take it off my nephew and it was full of water

  10. It only really works for #2 my sis had one on my niece and got peed on before they even went to the pool
