I have a 1 year old tv w/line down middle of screen why?

  1. its due to a dry solder ...means there might b a loose soldering in the circuit board which can b fixed easily by a TV trained Technician.....


  2. No...it's NOT an easy fix....did you forget these TVs have RIBBON CABLES and no solder joints past the X-Y driver ICs?

    If you're getting a picture, then those drive ICs are recieving their signals and processing them...and that means you either have a bad ribbon connection OR a bad Column in the LCD panel....

    That ain't easy....

    Now...if that line was created by watching TV shows with the black bars on the sides MOST of the time.....That's easy to repair....and it can be verified by looking at where the line is, and looking at a pillar box picture...if they align up right where the picture stops and the black bar begins, then that's easy to fix....

    But all other lines are tough...and most likely, the LCD panel is the problem, more than the ribbon connections....
