  1. Your having a fuel problem. If the carbs have been cleaned lately then check to insure that all fittings are tight.Check to see if the fuel bulb is collapsing and if so loosen the fuel cap on the fuel tank and try again,if this fixes the problem then clean the fuel tank vent.If the condition is still evident then you have a fuel pump failure, rebuild or replace.

  2. I had this problem once, with an old (1970's) Chrysler outboard.  Turns out the insulating foam on the inside of the motor cover was loose, and it flopped over the intake of the carburator when the engine was revved.  It choked out the motor every time!  Glued it back and it ran great.  Check the foam, or run the motor without the cover.

  3. Check for water in the ign system. Test fuel pressure and flow. Check water in gas and plugged fuel filter. Check all plug wires for cracks etc. Check for strong ign spark. Poss weak coil.

  4. Check the exhaust hoses, They may be colapsing when you take of and the exhaust can't get out. This happened to me and it took a long time to find it.

  5. could be many things ,

our boat did that last summer  ,

filter in the gas tank was dirty and needed changed , wasnt getting enough fuel to run ,

also if u have a plastic gas tank make sure u didnt forget to open the little tip that lets the tank vent
