  1. I would hire a car. There are many tour services that can offer you a car (a mercedes) and a knowledgeable driver and translator. He/She will be able to get you into the finest restaurants and take you to all of the marvelous sites. He/She will also know how much time you need to get back to the airport. Don't miss Montmontre. Maybe even have lunch at Jules Verne in the Tour Eiffel.

If you have time, the Picasso museum is a real treat.

    Have fun!

  2. That woman has more layovers than the average person has breakfast! Jusdt let her show you the ropes and do what ever she asks

  3. it depends on what hour of a day you arrive at paris. If it's in the morning or noon you have time to take those tour buses ,red ones to have a complete look at the city. It's worth it.You can see all paris in few hours.

  4. Take the RER from Roissy into Central Paris.  Visit the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, have lunch - you would have time to do these and get back to the airport on time for your onward flight.

Do make sure that you can actually exit the airport during your layover, though, and bear in mind that you would have to take your luggage with you.  You can put your luggage in a locker at Gare Du Nord, so you might wish to make this your first stop on the train from CDG.  You would need to check your luggage again and pass through immigrations to board your next flight.

But I can think of few world capitals so ideal for taking in the sights during a long layover as Paris is very compact and easy to get around, and transportation to and from the airport is quick and inexpensive.

I often forego the RER and take taxis from Roissy into town as they are fast and relatively cheap.  Don't expect the drivers to speak English or be polite, though!
