  1. What's up James.....I'm not a big fan of Crutchfield but I do believe in using all the resources you can get your hands on and quite frankly they do a really good job of providing manufacturers specs on the items they carry.  I have pasted a link to their page for the 1222D below, you might check it out and see what Alpine lists as the specs for their woofer.  As far as the Type R paired with the M1000....you can't loose.  The R is a nice product...cost is good, SQ is acceptable and it is one of the loudest 12's for the money out there.  As far as the box goes.  I still maintain that if built correctly a vented enclosure will produce the best overall combination of SQ and volume available.  Be sure to pay careful attention to the recommended port diameter and length, they put this information there for a reason.  You can drastically change the sound by skimping on your port dimensions.  Other than that.....go buy some MDF and have some fun building your box!

  2. crutchfield.com makes a really nice box by Q-logic its a single box all black with custom drilling for the boxes. my friend has the same car and i got him this box and it fits well with much room left for anything else our trying to fit in.
