  1. that is the biggest load of s*** i have heard in my life

  2. He's only 12 yrs. old.  Football might mess his swimming up.  His coach might want his attention on football only.  He's only 12 yrs. old.  Sounds like you have a neat son.  I was told that his football coach is full of it.

  3. Maybe what he was reffering to is the difference between "fast twitch" and "slow twitch" fibers. Fast twitch muscle is what gets used during sprinting where as slow twitch are more endurance muscles. Training for endurance can change the composition of muscles by altering the ratio of these fibers. But any exercise during the offseason would be benificial.

  4. no the coach is an idiot!

  5. no

  6. No swimming is the best way to build endurance and get a stress free exercise program      Keep it up

  7. iit should not as it is cardio vascular

  8. Yes it would but then  unless he swims right before he goes to football practice then it would but after an hour or so his museles gain strenth. My cousin said dthat when he is done with his practice he is exaustide so i sudgest he streaches before it all or he can hurt himself badly.

  9. why would this be? would swimming make some unwanted muscles to expand and limit his movement very slightly

ask him to make an explanation of how/why this is would be than maybe ask your Q again with more details

  10. No,

that's brilliant DO NOT stop his swimming or FOOTBALL the swimming gives him the energy to keep going on the pitch and stamina!

  11. no it cant because swimming gives you better agility speed and motion and it strengthens your arms and your feet so you can run faster and catch the ball better

  12. no, thats incorrect, lsn im a professional runner and i swim a lot. but 4get that, swiming is the only sport that builds all of ur muscles, so does it make sense when u say that stronger muscles make u slower? bloodfire. but maybe the coach is just worried ur son will get exhausted

  13. well i play soccer and we used to run in a pool for speed, look at it this way if you can be that fast in water, how fast will you be when you are in the open

  14. as long as he's not tired ..it won't

  15. nope it shouldnt

  16. I know that lifting weights can slow down your speed if you are a boxer, so maybe its related to that.

However, if your son wants to swim, let him swim. Its a little early in life to making major sacrifices for others.
