to the point of me breaking down from exhaustion. This has been going on since he was a toddler. In mostly everything else he is the best son a mom could ever have. What did I do wrong in this area? He has never had a slip or fall in the tub, never so much as a mishap of any kind in the bathroom. I am at my wit's end. This is the only time I really consider giving him a good smack. But I know that would be abusive. And I certainly dont want to end up losing him or behind bars in jail ffor hitting him. What do I do? Parents, please lend advise.

  1. Don't sweat it. When he discovers girls, the problem will disappear.

  2. I have a 23 yr old husband who doesn't want to bathe.

Your son will unfortunately probably be this way for the rest of his life. Hopefully when he starts liking girls he will start to be more hygienic. My brother was that way -- never cared anything about brushing his teeth until he started liking girls. Now he's OCD about hygiene.

  3. No fun until shower.

  4. Hm. That's quite strange.

Coming from another 12 year old, maybe take him to the

    community pool? Maybe it'll help?

  5. Just don't make him bathe for a week or so and when he's known as the "smelly kid" at school, he'll want to bathe. Good luck. =]

  6. Tell him either he will bathe himself or you will bathe him.

  7. Maybe he think it would be fun if you went out to the backyard with some soap and shampoo and sprayed him down with a hose. Bathe him like a dog if he wants to smell like one...

  8. bathe him yourself.

    lmao.

lol be like  'do you want ME to bathe you?'

that should do the trick ;D

  9. Well first he cant be the greatest son cause the postiton is fillied my me!

just tell him that he wont do anything bad he is going to do it even if you have to sit in there

  10. Thats what my sister did when she was 8-10.

My stepmom gave up on it and just simply told her,

Fine, If you want to go to school looking like a grease/skuzz ball, then do it.

Dont come whining to me when the other kids make fun of you.

Belive it or not she takes them everyday now.

My dad and stepmom put up with her for a lil over two years about that,

she turned 10 in January and finally decided to take them about a month later when they gave up the fight.
