  1. to stop giving him or letting him eat a lot of sugar.  Its pretty quick and painless.

  2. SEVEN!!!!?  That's ridiculous!  You better reassess his hygiene.

  3. does he have weak enamel? My girlfriend has to use a 1% flouride paste because her teeth are so weak. she has a lot of cavities and she brushes and flosses. You should expect a hefty bill and they will probally do two or 3 at a time depending on how severe. They may only do one  because it's so deep. If your son drinks stuff like Soda and Gatorade make sure he swishes with water after he drinks it. those drinks are sugar and acid baths for your teeth.

  4. It`s not that bad, they won`t do them all at once, His mouth will be numb afterwards. My daughter had some, I found out her teeth were crowded, you can ask them , if this might be the problem.

  5. expect to make him brush his teeth more, and let him eat less sugar.  my god, his diet has to be **** if he has that many at that age!

  6. A lot of pain!  U NEED 2 TAKE BETTER CAREOF U R CHILD, U NEED TO ENSURE THAT HE'S BRUSHING HIS TEETH EVERY MORNING & NIGHT, U NEED 2 STOP LETTING HIM HAVE A LOT OF POP & SWEETS.  7 CAVITIES IS A LOT 2 HAVE - ESPECIALLY AT 1 TIME.

  7. You can expect to write a check.

  8. whatever you do, do NOT let the dentist give him Versed!

  9. some kids are more prone to cavities than others because they just build up more bacteria. I would try and figure out why he is getting so many cavities, there might be things you need to try and limit. I would split the appointments up over a few different times and possibly ask for some nitrous oxide to help relax your son. It's also called laughing gas and is used a lot in dentistry.

I have 4 boys and they all brush the same and yet my oldest two have never had a cavity while my middle son has had a couple and my youngest quite a few. My yongest is 8 and each time we go for the 6 month cleaning he has had one cavity. I even brush his teeth myself even though he is 8 and floss as well but he still gets them. I also don't allow any candy or juice (aside from special occassions). He only drinks milk and water.  I imagine if I didn't do all do it would be even worse for him.

  10. Don't have them done at the same time, set up several appointments. I know this from experience. He would be in way to much pain.

  11. I know my 5.5 half needs a filling after a recent trip to the dentist but its in in his milk teeth i think they drill the cement/filling thing in the whole then suck up all the debris. Then ask your son to swirl afterwards. It has nothing to do with brushing his teeth as i am very stict with my son about teeth brushing yet he still has a cavatie which i am so shocked about my children dont drink fizzy pops or have sweets often i have been told squashes and fruit juices have high intakes of sugar so i am guessing thats where he got his cavatie from ignore all the above answers about hygiene and diet cause i know that is a load of c**p!!

  12. I had 2 filled last week, and I have 2 to 3 more small ones to get filled next week. The worse part is the needle. It will numb his entire mouth, but the sight of it might scare him a bit. Tell him to just close his eyes, it will only pinch for a minute & then he won't feel a thing after that. Then the dentist will just have him open his mouth wide and he uses some solution to fill it, and a little light/heat instrument to dry it. It is not painful at all. He will feel the dentist moving around in there, but it will not hurt. Usually, though they will do just a few at a time. Maybe 3 in one visit, and 4 in another visit. If your insurance covers it, ask for a flouride treatment. It coats the teeth and prevents further cavities. Let him know that he will be fine and there should only be the initial small prick of the needle & then his mouth will be numb.

  13. if you have a good dentist then he should no have a problem.  between my two sons they have had 10 fillings and never had any pain or any other problem.

and my boys brush thier teeth and dont eat many sweets.  the denist told my that some of it is hereditary.

just make sure you have a good dentist.

  14. Please don't let them use anything with amalgamate (mercury), that can make your son very sick. There are plenty of cheap alternatives.

  15. hey, so do i and i am 13.

  16. My 10yr old has..none so far. Brush your teeth am,pm etc.
