  1. The best judge for your question is your doctor. Even my kid started at the age of 18 months. So you have plenty of time but allow the child in the floor and try to place some toys which it likes near it so that the crave for crawling starts. Its a best method to encourage children to start crawling.

  2. Huh listen to your doctor. His body will grow strong enough to support his head. He will be ok. If it was something to be worried about don't you think the doctor would have told you.

  3. I agree with the previous poster: encourage him to move by putting things he likes out of reach and by playing with him on the floor so that he develops muscle tone and coordination. Once he realizes the benefits of moving himself he'll start to work harder at it. Also, stay in regular contact with your family doctor to monitor his condition.

Many parents have special challenges raising kids: the don't have a partner or family support, they have health problems  or special needs, or behavioural issues themselves or with other members of the family. Parenting is the hardest job out there. You'll feel better if you learn more about his condition and know what to expect. Doctors often don't have the time to answer all of our questions or concerns. Maybe talking to some other parents who have kids going through the same type of thing would be a good idea. You can learn about how they handle the condition, share tricks and shortcuts to get things done. Don't underestimate how good it feels to learn that you're not the only one who struggles, worries, gets frustrated, etc.

I just looked around on the web and found some articles, mentions of books and a support group that might help. All the best of luck to you and your son. Believe that you'll both make it through ok :)

  4. My daughter who hasnt had any health problems didnt begin walking until the end of her 14 month. After 16 months then you should be concerned
