  1. some neon tetras, guppies, kuhli loaches, gourami, danios

  2. Assuming tropical.

I would suggest three Cory as your bottom cleaners and five otocinclus as your glass cleaners.

After that you have an awful lot of choices, you should be thinking about fish that don't grow over 1.5" and are compatible with other species in the tank. Guppies, Neon Tetra, Glowlights, Danio, that sort of thing. It's always easy to overstock when planning a new set up so, stay on the side of caution when adding fish and look them up on the net before buying.

  3. ..... a mix of strictly neon tetras (12) and male guppies (10) in a very well planted tank is very pretty colorful and tranquil

....live plants are useful, they abosorb ammonia and nitrates, and they release CO2 that nourishes the bacteria in the water filter

.... the full grown size of those are 1.2 to 1.5" each, so as long as the water is changed regularly and plants are healthy (use a light with a 30 watts bulb or total of 30 watts for two bulbs) everything will be lovely

...those fish are excelently colored, bright in light, hapy together and really easy to care for (not to mention less expensive too)
