I have a 15 year old, 25hp Tohatsu 2-stroke which takes along time to start can you help me!

I am doing all i can to start it like pitting it in fast idle but i need some help on the mechanical side as i don't know how the engine works and how i can make it start quicker.

Buy a can of starting fluid ,spray some into the carbuerator.

behind the carb is a set of reed valves they get dirty and cause hard starting, if your not a diy person take it to a shop for a tune up,

william b's probably got it. sounds like dirt in your fuel system somewhere. like he said , take it to a mechanic . carbies are easy to get to so the labor shouldn't cost much. he'll probably just disassemble it and spray it with some kind of cleaner. You may also have an air leak which will only mean replacing a gasket or 2. Also , make sure you're mixing your fuel at 50:1 or your plugs can oil up. I trust you're already squeezing the bulb in the fuel line until it's hard before you try to start it.
