What should I look for in a printer. Do not have much money.

  1. Hello,

    All printers (like the other hardware) have a driver to translate their commands for the operating system (like Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux). When you use a hardware (including printers), the most thing to consider is their compatibility with your operating system. For example, if you have Windows Vista on your laptop and you buy a printer that (is older) and its driver doesn't support Vista, you won't use it (probably), but the make of your laptop is not an important factor.

    Check compatibility of the printer driver with your Windows (or other operating system you're using) before you buy it.


  2. Pretty much all are compatible, but make sure you check the connection.  Usually these days, it's a USB connection, or wireless.  If the cord fits into your laptop, or it's wireless (and so is your laptop), youre good to go.

    I find great deals on printers on ebay.   jsut rememebr to google to check the price they go for, so you dont overpay.
