I have a 17 yr old bow last used 8 yrs ago and want to have it restrung for my son, is this safe?

  2. It depends on how well you took care of it, if it was stored properly or not, what kind of bow it is, if it was kept strung or not, etc.

    Since you do seem to have some doubt about it, you probably should get your son another bow. To help save some money, go to an archery store and look at any used bows they may have. (By "archery store", I do not mean Cabela's, Gander Mountain, Bass Pro, or any of those other "Big Box" sporting-goods department stores. I mean a place where ARCHERY is the focus) While you're there, let the real pros take a look at your 17 year old bow, they'll be able to tell you if it is still worth using or not.
