What my problem is dirt got into the gas tank and I have come to realize this after putting on 3 carb kits. I was told I could put on a inline fuel filter and replace them every once in a while an that would trap the dirt. I have a 4 barrel carb will this impede the gas flow. Other then pulling the tank is this a good solution?

  1. Yes, you want to buy a spin on filter and mount like Racor brand. It will also separate any water that may be in your tank. Buy an extra filter right away and keep it on the boat in case the first filter clogs up if you have a lot of gunk in the tank.

  2. Inline filter will work just fine bet you wish you had one before

  3. Yes, it's a good solution to the problem, if fact I have one on my boat, and I don't have dirt in the a\tank.  The filter is big enough that it will not starve the engine of fuel!  I hope this helps.  Good luck!
