  1. Sounds like a shilling or florin.

1887 was a jubilee year, with a new series of coinage issued for Victoria's fiftieth year on the throne. Many of these coins were saved as souvenirs, and so are quite common.

Only if it were in unused condition would it be worth trying to sell it on eBay. A local coin dealer will be your best bet.

  2. I wouldn't sell it.I would keep it instead.

  3. tell ya what. Have a brace put around it so you can  wear it as a necklace. no sense loosing it to a coin dealer when you can enjoy it.

    Just a thought?

  4. Unless it's in absolutely perfect condition it's worth less that $10.00, maybe less than $5.00. I'm assuming you are in the US- British coins are not particularly popular with US collectors.

  5. It sounds like a florin, I'd go to a reputable coin shop and ask them if it's worth much, my first answer would be not really, they're fairly common.
