  1. Hi there,

This is seperation anxiety, it is prefectly normal and many people don't realize that this happens again aroung 1.5 years of age. Some kids only get this around 8-10 months and then again around 1.5, others "pick" either one...

Even though this is probably inconvenient and very exhausting for you, the more you help him to get over it, the sooner he'll be done. So practise with him that the fact that you are out of sight doesn't mean you are not coming back. Play hide and seek together. Make a point of when you leave the room to still talk to him (tell him what you are doing for example) and very couple minutes peak your head in and say peekaboo or something like that. This is a very important developmental step for your son and he'll get over it again, but count on it taking anywhere from a couple of weeks to a month or two...

The above suggestions will help speed up the process though. When he's with daddy, he can tell him, mommy is cooking dinner, what do you think she's making? Or mommy is doind laundry, do you think she's washing your shorts as well? Thing like that. It will teach him object permanency, even though you are out of sight, you still excist...

Hope this helps and hang in there, it will go away again!
