I have a 1965 crestliner v bottom need a drain plug!!!!!!!!!?

1965 crestliner which has an aluminum drain plug in the bottom of the boat which I dont have. I have checked every where gander mount, bass pro, ebay,ect... I cant find one and my boat keeps leaking with the regular rubber plugs any help would be appriciated! I have tried to contact crestliner to no avail so thats why im here asking. Thank you!

  1. You can look at retail stores, but a 65 crestie is pretty obsolite. I deal with people all day looking for obsolete parts. My suggestions are (with the company out of the mix)

    1. www.ebay.com

    2. Look at a boat graveyard near you. This includes large marinas that deal with your maker of boats, since they will be familiar with the brand.

    Also the hole itself may be not what it used to be, for instance, if it took a hit. I would examine it carefully and look for stress marks from where it may have been bent back to shape.

    If thats the case then take the old plug, coat it with liquid rubber, allow it to dry, and see if it holds. Usually that does the trick for oblonged drain holes.

    Each of these have many universal or replacement parts that may fit.  One thing you might try is to give a squirt of silicone around the plug to help seal it a little better until you find a better plug.
