Question:

I have a 1976 Lincoln penny with a capital K engraved to the right of the face. Is it worth anything?

The K looks almost like it was added later. it is engraved into the penny, not raised like most letters.

  2. I see nothin anywhere.  If it was added later it couldve been anything really.

  3. It was added later by someone for it did not come from the mint that way. It is not uncommon to see coins punched with a letter or number. Anyone could have done it and the coin is now considered damaged as is a non-collectible. Older coins from the 1800's where the initials are know to collectors, sometime bring a premium. Some coins from that time period were used for advertising.
