Question:

I have a 1985 grand marquis. when i cut on the a/c it blows out air but its not cold. can anyone help me?

  1. The refrigerant in the A/C system is low or has leaked out.

    This car uses the old style R12 Freon which is no longer available.  You will need a conversion kit to use the new R134 refrigerant.

    It depends on which state you live in if you can install the retrofit kit and recharge the system with R134a refrigerant.

    You will also need to locate and repair the leak that caused the refrigerant to leak out in the first place.  For this, you may need to take it to an A/C certified technician.  Big bucks$$$


  2. I had the same thing with my car's AC, and it ended up being a fuse.  You should take it to a place that offers free A/C diagnostic check, many do..or find a coupon for the same.  If it's blowing, that's a good sign, I'm thinking either a fuse, or needs more freon.  Good Luck
