  1. You have a couple options. If there is enough skeg left, you can get a bolt on replacement that slips over the broken part.

    Second, you can take it to a welder who has experience replacing skegs. I had one done on a 200 Suzuki, and it only cost $100 minus paint. Call some marinas and they will probably be able to recommend a welder.

    I have welded up many of them. Foots gotta come off, but that second link I gave you should fix all your worries.

  3. If the housing is not leaking, I would leave it alone. If you try and weld it the heat might do more damage. I would file off the sharp edges and use it just like it is. I used a motor with a broken skeg for 3 years, never had a problem.
