  1. i have a 88 olds 88 and yours is probably like mine. is it getting good spark, like blue and try turning the ignition on and push the schrader valve on the fuel rail and see if it pushes gas up out of it. if your getting gas, but not too much, change the gas filter.

  2. First check and make sure it isn't flooding with gas, then change your cap and rotor button .If it isn't that, then your timing chain is either broke or or so loose it has jumped.Check and see if it has slack in it by turning the motor by hand backwards until the pulley mark is on 0.Make sure it is on compression stroke and see if the rotor is pointing towards number one, if it isn't then it has jumped time.

To see if it is on compression stroke, take the plug out and have someone turn the engine until the compression pushes your finger off the hole, then you can line the pulley mark up with zero.

Then turn it forward and see how much it will turn before the distributor's rotor button will move.If the pulley mark moves more than 8 degrees before the rotor button turns then replace the timing chain and gears.

  3. check the pump but did you check the flow to the motor from pump could be the fuel filter is bad... did you check the spark plug too see if its has fire there.. your checking the wrong places what matter is where its comes out not where it starts
