I have a 1987 vip boat merc crusier how do i set the points in it?

first you call the local boat dealer for merc cruzer and tell them what size motor you gots cause you have not told US .... fthen you get the correct information .... and you need a thickness guage tool to set the distance that the points need to seperate to fire to each of the cylinders of your motor .....

You don't. It has electronic ignition....no points.

If it has points you can set it from a matchbook cover which is about 17 hundredths of an inch.
