  1. Your in-expensive options are to find yourself a Motorcraft/Autolite 2100/2150 carb off a Ford small block engine. You could find one at a junkyard and rebuild it, or purchase a remanufactured unit from an auto parts store. The 2100/2150 is probably the easiest carb. to rebuild. You'll need a Mr. Gasket Part No. 1933 2 barrel adapter plate, and a 2 barrel intake manifold. The adapter plate bolts to the intake, and the carb bolts to the adapter. From there, the only thing that will need to be modified is the carb. linkage. If I recall, the stock carb is a downward pull linkage, and the 2100/50 is a rearward pull linkage.

MAKE SURE: the carb. you get has a 1.08 venturi size. This can be identified by a dial like stamp on the bowl of the carb with a 1.08 in the center of it. These carbs were found on Ford trucks and cars with small displacement v8s like 289's, and 302's through the early 80s.

  2. ck out JC Whitney to see about fuel injection conversion, if you are going to do any off road, float carbs don't work as well on rough or steep roads

  3. You'd have better luck shopping for a wrecked YJ at a junkyard that has an EFI manifold and as much of the relevent electronics with it as you can find.

You could maybe find or have fabbed an adapter to fit a 2-bbl carb to your rig, but I dunno - were any ever built that came stock with a 2-bbl?  If they were you could hope to luck into one of those, or else try to find an aftermarket one that was set up for a bigger carb.
