  1. You can check it in park but they recomend checking it in neutral. You want to make sure that is nice and warmed up before you check it.


  2. Normal operating temperature is what you want the car to be when checking the tranny fluid.  I always use park because I don't like the thing to roll over me when I'm doing this.  If you do this in neutral place blocks, bricks or some such thing in front and behind at least one tire.
