Ok i have bought a few months ago a 1990 240sx completely stock. but sooner or later i want to do a engine swap. i would eather pick a ka24de or rb20det. depending on how much money i have. but right now i was wondering how much and what would a ka24de coust compaired ro a rb20det swap. also what engine can handle more? and which engine has better acceleration? im planing on adding preformance parts. but also if i get the ka i would want to make it a turbo so then what would be a better engine?

  1. I'll send you a 7mge, then you'll have some fun.

  2. Dude If you get a KA it will be cheaper for the swap. I found a KA in the Junkyard for $450. The total swap could be around $1500-$2000 (labor + parts). A lot of people get the SR20 because it's stock turbo. but in reality the KA (built+turboed) will withstand a lot more than the SR20. So if you want fast results get the SR which should run starting around $3000 just for the engine, depending on where you buy it. If that's your project car, build the KA. If you go to the junkyard make sure you remove the valve cover and look inside. A gold color is always nice, means the engine was taken car of.

  3. Before you spend the money on an engine, thoroughly inspect the underside of the vehicle, as they susceptible to corrosion.
