The noise will stop on occassion... I know its not the bearings or a rod knock! There is no metal shavings in the oil (clean) It only has 27K miles on it! Does anyone know what the noise may be? I've actually heard this noise on other bikes as well. The bike runs strong. Just has a damned ticking/ knocking noise comming from the sides... HELP!!! LOL...

Than-x

  1. Two possable things 1..valaves need adjusting..or 2..cam chain needs adj.  Either of these will cause the ticking noise.

  2. lol that is because it is old.Try a newer model. That will solve your problem.

  3. Yeah most likely it could be your valves, but if is coming from the side then it could possibly be your clutch. Take a s***w driver and hold the handle to your ear and put the tip on various points of the motor (while idling) and try to pin point exactly where it is coming from. It works kind of like a stethoscope.

  4. Its a Bomb, just waiting to explode!

  5. Cam Chain and valves need adjusted.

  6. yeah probably cause it's old, hah.
