I have a 1993 Honda Accord it doesnt want to start?

my car is pretty old but i've takend care of it, I do the maintenance every 3000 miles, this summer it started acting up when the weather started to get hot, and now it doesnt want to start, i'm a girl and taking it to the shop gets pretty expensive, any car experts out there? oh and when I try to turn it on the light for when you put it on drive (D) flashes. I also tried to run some cables thinking it was the battery and still didnt turn on, fuel pump?

  1. If the car is cranking... battery is ok.

    If the car starts after cooling down (open windows), a relay need to be fixed or replaced.  It is very common for Honda Accords.  The relay/switch new cost about $70. But, it can be repair by just soldering.  No sure about labor charges.


  2. the fuel pump relay tends to go bad in hondas.  i had a 93 accord as well and the relay went bad on me.  it could be the relay or the pump, but i doubt it because the (D) flashes. Normally that's an indication that there is a transmission problem.
