I have a 1994 chevy 350 1500 2 wheel drive my trans dip stick came loose a lot of fluid came out i replaced it

now i cant get 3 gear what should i check?

did you ck your fluid leval? If you have reverse and 1st the bands are ok, chevy trannys work on 1st and 3rd on the same band, and 2nd and reverse on the other, if you got the tranny hot it may have got some trash in the hole that the ball covers up to make it change gears, make sure the tranny is full, then put it in reverse and 1st back and forth a few times and try to clear it out, if not it gets a little more complicated but you can still do it yourself without pulling tranny, let me know if you need to go farther.

replacing the dip stick would,nt do that. better check the fluid level, also it might need a fluid and filter change.

Sounds like your may have burnt something up inside trans. with the loose of fluid. Or one of the eletric shift sloeniods is stuck. Need to take it to a trans. repair shop.

yea thats weird if you have 1st and rev your trannys fine

cheak your linkage or modulator valve, mounted on the outside of the tranny real cheep fix

do not over fill your tranny with fluid

check to see if you put enough trans fluid back in also find out why dip stick came loose never heard of that happening before
