  1. This question needs more info with it......which primer bulb are you pumping...the fuel line or the oil line? I am not familiar with a lack of fuel alarm, but Usually this is a lack of oil alarm. I would ensure that all of your connections from the oil tank to the VRO are good and tight. If this does not stop the alarm, you probably need a new VRO pump. The diaphragm in the pump may be split. DO NOT TRY TO REBUILD THE VRO.......REPLACE THE WHOLE PUMP!!!!  Rebuilding a VRO will only last for a short while.

  2. Kink or restriction in the fuel line.

  3. 1st try a portable tank to isolate the problem. if this does not fix the symptom theres a restriction or air leak BEFORE the fuel pump.   if it does, see if there is a restriction in the fuel tank pickup or anti-siphon valve. good luck. Ed

  4. mabey bad fuel filter

  5. hi there...

Is this motor the VRO .. Oil injected... or do you pre mix...

If its  Oil injected the warning is low oil at high speed meaning your vro oil pump is not working properly.

You really need to check that...

Also you say it only comes on at high speed...  if its a continiuos beep thne it could be the over heat alarm...  when did you last change the impellor and is the  motor peeing  well??

Also post this question on Iboats. com...   Most on there are mechanics.. and they help me get my 1972 50 hp Johnson to run like new...  they gave me adise on how to change the flywheel, stator, coils and completely overhaul the carbs. Those guys are good !!

Also you can search Iboats for the same problem you have.. Beleive me they are good!!

I just looked on Iboats and found a guy with similar problem.. he changed the oil filter on the VRO and doesnt get the warning now...

Good luck .... try the link..

  6. Your fuel system is getting air bound. You have an air leak some where, or a restriction in the line, look for a kink, also check the gas tank cap. Is it tight? It to has a gasket in it, could be bad.
