Question:

I have a 1997 Surburban and all of the speakers quit working at once, the reciever is fine on output?

The system has been working great until this happened, I have checked the reciever and there is audio output, I have heard that there may be some type of amp on the factory speakers.

  1. If there is a premium sound package then the amplifier would generally be under the center console as in many Chevrolet/GM Vehicles. You would probably be better off checking the voltage at the speakers. The cause of this will either be a short somewhere or the amplifier has gone bad


  2. Did you happen to remove the radio or do other underdash work that could have caused it? if so check the plug that connects to the radio it could be loose or disconnected its going to be either a gray or white square connector located to the left side rear of the radio.
